Shopping Terms

We are dedicated to excellence in customer service.  Your shopping cart will calculate shipping costs BEFORE you check out, so you don't have to wonder how much it will cost.  We ship within 2 business days of receipt of payment by insured, trackable delivery, however, due to shipping variables beyond our control, we ask that you please allow 14 days for delivery.  Hopefully this page answers all of your questions, but if not, please ask!

We are located in South Central Texas approximately 90 miles north of Houston. We specialize in exceptional new gift items for all occasions and all budgets. From time to time we also have antique collectibles such as Flow Blue and Blue Willow and Depression Glass, which are not new.

PAYMENT POLICY

We accept the following form(s) of payment: Personal Checks, Money Order, and PayPal.

We request that all payments be made within seven (7) days after the date of order. All purchases MUST BE made in U.S. dollars.

SHIPPING POLICY

We ship all smalls (i.e. porcelain, glass, silver, jewelry, etc.) via Insured and Trackable carriers. We will ship within two (2) business days (normally sooner) after receipt of payment via PayPal, Cashiers Check and Money Orders. We reserve the right to hold merchandise purchased with personal checks a minimum of 10 business days until the check clears. As you can see from our feedback, we have very fast shipping, but if you require overnight shipping, please add $20.00.

We ship to the U.S., APO, FPO, Canada, the U.K. and most European countries. We do not ship to Australia, the Middle East or Asia.

SHIPPING RATES:

Within the U.S.: normally $6.99 to $8.99 per destination depending upon the speed of delivery you select and the weight of the item.

RETURNS POLICY

Our return policy is designed to ensure a smooth, enjoyable buying experience. Every new item you buy from us must be free of defects or you may return it for merchandise cost refund or replacement. Buyer must contact the seller within 72 hours of delivery confirmation for Return Authorization and instructions.

Shipping and handling fees are not refundable.

  1. If you are not pleased with your Gifts-of-Discernment.com purchase, simply contact us by email, phone, or by filling out our Return Form online within 72 hours of delivery of your item to arrange for its return and a refund of the purchase price, less shipping and handling fees stated in the Terms Of Sale at the time of purchase.
  2. We will acknowledge your return request within 3 days.
  3. You will ship the item back to the shop within 3 days of the acknowledgement:
    • The item must be returned via the original carrier (unless agreed otherwise in writing), in its original packaging, insured (if available) for its purchased price, and must be received in the same condition as when it was shipped to you with the shop's tags and identifying marks intact.
    • We recommend you use delivery tracking and get a delivery receipt.
    • The buyer pays for return shipping and insurance.
  4. After we verify the returned item is as originally sent, we will issue a refund of the merchandise cost or replacement, if available and requested, within 3 days.
  • This policy does not apply to custom orders, antique collectibles or items purchased on layaway.
  • Damaged-in-transit items are handled separately as described immediately below.

Custom orders are warranteed against defects in materials only. You may return your custom item plus $5.00 per item to cover return postage and handling for a replacement within 72 hours of delivery confirmation. All returns are at the expense of the buyer.

Returned antique or collectible merchandise must include our original label and code and must be returned in the same condition as received. All returns are done at the expense of the buyer. Generally we do not have replacements of these items available. Your merchandise cost refund will be issued once we have verified the condition and authenticity of the returned merchandise, usually within three business days.

  • Please do not return items damaged in shipment, as doing so will void the shipping insurance.
  • Damage claims can only be made on items shipped with insurance.
  • We insure all shipments through private carrier insurance, EXCEPT FOR UPS.
  • To begin the process, please contact us and alert us to the damage.
  • Claims for UPS shipments should be made through the shipping agent. Guidelines for insurance claims vary by carrier so please check with the carrier for specific instructions.
  • Be sure to retain all original packaging as well as all pieces of the damaged item, as the shipping agent will request to examine them.
  • In the event that you, the recipient, files the claim, we will provide you with the necessary insurance information.
